April Fool

April Fool

My Dear Visitor,

Forgive me. I just couldnt resist the temptation to post this.

Dont worry you are not the only one. I am eagerly waiting to see the reaction of my colleagues when they open this picture attachment in the company bulletin board ;-)

Please dont spoil the fun by leaking info about the post. Let your friends also visit this site today.

After all "Yaan petra thunbam peruga ivvaiyagam". It means "Let the world experience the same hardships which I faced" ;-)

With the flow

With the flow

Quote: Dheepak Ra
Photographer: Dheepak Ra

Sometimes it feels really strange to keep writing "Photographer: Dheepak Ra". But trust me there are loads of people who still enquire whether I took the picture :-(

I am sure lot of people will disagree with me on the quote. But try to view it in conjunction with my post on Destiny

Memoirs

String up the memories......

The veil that chides in
the heart that blends in;
Palisading the borders
saving thee but checkpointing thy;
String up the memories.
A simple smile
after a surreal mask of anger,
is it beyond thee?

Glittering gold

Gold

I just realized what made William Wordsworth pen that beautiful poem - Daffodils.

When my eyes feasted on that view, the joy it brought out was worth its weight in gold.

Destiny

Destiny

Quote: Yours Truly
Photographer: Thats me

Watch out, for the path which leads you to hell might also be the one which leads you to heaven - just a difference of 180 degrees.

After several attempts spread over a week, I managed to capture this. The goal was to obtain both a decent light as well as minimum number of vehicles.

Pyramid

Pyramid

Couple of days back I was surprised to see the pyramid with those white patches around the opening. Absolutely no idea as to what purpose they serve. But this proverb struck me immediately. So I decided to blog it.

Get to watch it live, before the pyramid gets healed ;-)

Update on 25th March 2005 @ 16:35 IST:

Today when I went for lunch, I was surprised to see that those white "patches" have disappeared. Dont know whether it was just coincidence or its a reflection of the popularity of this series in the company intranet. Well I am not complaining.........

Boat in the dock

Dock

Quote: Source unknown
Photographer: Dheepak Ra

I wasnt too happy with the original quote. So I tweaked it, to sound a bit better.

Pedalling that boat during moon night with a gentle breeze in the background and some soothing melodious music streaming from the walkman - Trust me there are very few things as satifying as that. And I must have enjoyed that atleast 30 times till date.

Ostrich?

Ostrich?

Cast: Yet to name him
Quote: William Shakespeare
Photographer: Dheepak Ra

Atlast I have found an Indian Ostrich. Nowadays there are more of bitumen roads than sand(kutcha) roads. So its forced to satisfy with the plastic cover.

Meanwhile if you arent able to decipher the quote (I mean literally), then I am reproducing it here - "False face must hide what the false heart doth know" Its a quote by Shakespeare and that fonts blends in well. A bit too well, that its not easy to read.

Modesty

Modesty

Quote: Oliver Herford
Photographer: Dheepak Ra

Well I was walking towards one of the food courts for dinner, when this lamp post arrested me. It is focussed and does exactly what it is supposed to do. The cover at the top, somehow seemed to amplify its modesty.

Update on 22Mar05@20:38:

Isnt it like a lady with the saree pulled over her head? To admit frankly I havent seen anybody do that in the last few years. Still it was a passing thought......

Shortcuts in Life

Shortcuts

Quote: Beverly Sills
Photographer: Dheepak Ra

The lift leads to my cubicle, literally. Does that mean it isnt worth going there? ;-) I hope my manager doesnt look into this blog. But if he does, I hope he will arrange for a cabin instead of these cubicles :-)

Jokes apart, I had loads of trouble trying to frame this. I had to make sure that my reflection isnt prominent in the image and I wanted the correct light to ensure that the staircase is reflected on the lift. After twidling for long time, I composed this shot. Waiting for your feedbacks. It could have been better, if only I had some hand lights which I could have muffled.

Let me add, this post is dedicated to my sis who relocated from Bangalore to Faridabad this weekend. We will miss you......

Vending Machine

Vending Machiene

But then the inability is what makes us inherently beautiful.

Well this is more of a sigh than a quote. It may not strike a chord with many but I am sure there are quite a few for whom this is apt.

Meanwhile to end the week in a lighter note....

Software Engineers are devices which converts coffee into program code. Its my mutated version of Paul Erdos quote. Hmm atleast it was true during the training days.

Here is a Turkish proverb: "Coffee should be black as hell, strong as death and as sweet as love". The one in the picture serves coffee which "looks sweet, smells like hell and tastes like death".

Well no offences meant. After all they say "A code of one programmer might be a bug of another" Loosely translated from "One mans food is another mans poison"

Expect to catch you all on Monday. Till then either leave the comments here or email me at baejaar(at)gmail(dot)com

The Cake

The Cake

Photographer: Dheepak Ra
Quote: Marie Antoinette

The quote in the picture is that of Marie Antoinette, the French queen. I guess this must have been around the time of French revolution. (If only somebody had uttered this to me, I would have taken it literally ;-)

Meanwhile I was wondering whether to put my quote (based on an email forward which I recieved long time back). Finally I decided to place Queen ahead of self.

If flour, raw eggs, vinegar and oil can go into this cake
Why shouldnt loss, pain and challenges be part of our life?

Pin your thoughts

Pin

Cast: Colleague's Stapler
Photographer: Dheepak Ra
Quote: Dheepak Ra

Just trying my hand at some Macros. Instead of choreographing a quote, I took the snap and I tried to compose a quote. Unfortunately I couldnt stop myself and it grew to the size of a poem. Finally I didnt have any choice but to cut it down to just a few lines.

Thoughtful Soul

Omar Khayyam quote

Cast: Monday's post will not have a cast
Photographer: Thats me - Dheepak Ra
Quote: Omar Khayyam

This is a quote by Omar Khayyam. I am sure this will keep you engaged in pondering about the quote...... I dont want your bosses to be angry with me for distracting you from work, right in the begining of the week. So get back to work soon.

Success

Success

Cast: Lech Alves
Photography: Dheepak Ra

Let me confirm the leak by Neel Arurkar. Yes it is Lech Alves in this photo. Let me be very frank - that cubicle belongs neither to him nor to me. Its our colleague's cubicle which is generally devoid of any clutter. After working hours, we transformed it into what you are staring at. Guess we can also call ourselves as "Art Directors".

Update: Quote is by Don Marquis - a New York newspaper columnist, poet, humorist, playwright and short-story writer in the early decades of the last century.

Lights & Shadows

Hope

Cast: Deepak Dhamija
Photographer: Yours Truly

We are neighbours in the same apartment. This shot was taken in the morning, to get the shadows right. This is perhaps the first shot involving an actor outside my project team but expect many more to come. I hate taking shots in the morning for you lose couple of working hours doing post processing on the image.

Listen

Listen

Hey Dude, I am not referring to mp3 songs........

Jokes apart, we have with us, Keyur Gor - one of the busy bees who had to reschedule (or offload ;-) ) some work for our benefit. After nearly fifty minutes, I had enough snaps that we decided to pack up. Eventhough there were much better images, somehow this one arrested me. May be its the pure bliss which flooded me with the memories of those good, old training days....

Hope

pillars_hope

My regular readers of Baejaar would have instantly recognized this photograph. Normally I compose my shot around a quote. But for a change, I forced a quote to suit the image.

On Friday, I was trying multiple cast for the same snap. Unfortunately their "call sheets" were conflicting. By the time, I got hold of them together, it was too late for outdoor shot. We packed up for the day and decided to postpone the release to Tuesdays post.

Well it was Sunday night 10pm and I didnt have an image for the quote which I had in my mind. So I had to improvise and use the snap which I had taken in passing.

Challenges

Challenges

Cast: Subhabrata Bhattacharya
Photographer: Dheepak Ra

Behind the Scenes:

The theme of the quote literally popped into my mind over a cup of tea. Neither Subh nor I am a great fan of tea. In fact the cup of tea which is immortalized in this snap, was never drunk by any of us. To admit frankly, the cold tea went down the drain.

Today we had too many curious onlookers at the shooting spot. Need to watch out from next time. Fame and loss of privacy are two sides of the same coin. Similar to cricketers, great politicians and film personalities, we guys shouldn't expect privacy ;-)

Character

Cast: Neel Arurkar

Behind the Scenes:

This time its Neel Arurkar who takes on the mantle. As both of us are avid chess players, we fit the bill perfectly.

We had to shoot the photographs in various locations ranging from Conference rooms to Ponds. Finally we settled down with this image which was shot in the Library.

If you are interested in working with us, feel free to email us.
