Miracle

Miracle buddha flower leaf filter coffee series

Quote: If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.
Author: Buddha
Photographer: kaleidoscope

Kaldeidoscope (sorry didnt get the authorization to post her real name here) is my favorite photographer in the blogging community. I can't do justice, if I write something about how good her snaps are. You should check out the archives at her blog.

On the lighter side, if you can find the flower in that snap, it is indeed a miracle ;)

Only last week, I had a discussion with my colleagues regarding the technology of "Word Verification" and I was surprised to see it broken by some one selling antibiotics. Either its a pretty good tool to detect patterns and OCR or else he must have taken lot of effort to manually post it.

Thanks Lakshmi.

OCR has come quite a long way and some of the word verification tools online can be bet quite easily by OCRs. But then the spammers would have to pay for either manual OCRs( humans ) or automatic OCRs in either case increasing the cost of spamming which ais a good thing.......what has not come a long way is of crse picture identification...So maybe we should use pictures of common objects and ask people to name these pictures....Thats one easy way to ensure that the spammers spend some money on something useful :).

Ashok, thanks for the informative reply. Its your area of research, so you know the best. But isnt automatic OCR an one time cost? If some one writes it once, it can be used by loads of spammers. And even a single spammers must be crawling on thousands of blog comments. As far as your nice and innovative suggestion, the cost for google will go up. After all the image and the answer needs to be manually entered into the database of google first before it can be used for verification.

Thanks, Sky. Uour compliments must be read by Kaleidoscope, since she was here.
