Honor

photograph of island with quote about Honor in daily blog

Quote: Honor is like an island, rugged and without shores; once we have left it, we can never return
Author: Nicholas Boileau
Photographer: Dhanalakshmi

A photograph from the incredibly tempting Singapore brought to you by Dhanalakshmi. I took the liberty of merging it with the French critic's quote.

Awesome shot, buddy!

Reminds me of Vizag which I left at the age of 20 and am yet to go back to (an astrologer told me that would happen later).

We used to stay just off Ramakrishna Beach and had great views of the sea. You got to live on a seashore sometime in Life; the closest you can get to living on the edge of Infinity!

Shastri
Nice to see you back after a long time. True there are very few things that can rival living a sea shore. Some which crosses my mind are living in a cottage in a hill station (I prefer coorg), backwaters of kerala and few more. As far as the beaches, I still prefer the konkan coast particularly near Gokarn, karwar and goa.

Shanks_p,
Thanks for dropping by.

Arathi,
I want to go soon (atleast relatively). Planning to goto either Andaman or more likely Lakshwadeep in the next two/three years.

Shripriya,
Thats the problem with ctr+c & ctr+v from yesterday's template. It was correct in ITL Features but missed out in KEC General. I have changed it now. Mikka Nandri......

Akruti,
Check your bloggers comment notification email id.

Saravanan,
Thanks for stopping by.

Anubhav,
Regaining honor is possible but its pretty tough. Its like a swimmer trying to get back to an island after he is marooned in the sea.

Enchant, :-)

Kaleidoscope,
My guess is that this is from a nearby mountain or atleast from a cable car or something. However my guess is as good as yours. Lets wait for Dhanalakshmi to do the honors.

Smyta,
I think I should allow the draft to be visible to you. It will save me the trouble of finding a quote :-)

And thanks to all of you for the comments. Dhanalakshmi is in a differnt timezone. I will pass on all the compliments to her, if she doesnt drop by.

Nice Pic, Dheepak. Kudos to the photographer. Q: What is this place within Singapore called? Curious!

Nice pic. Wonderful pic, actually. I would agree with Anubhav in not being able to connect to the quote, and I will leave it at that :-)
To a man who never accumulated and safe-guarded his honour, dishonour is impossible, isn't it?

Ravi,

Straight from the Photographer:
"There is an Island called "Sentosa" (like a theme park) and there are
many small piece of land sourrounding it(as seen in picture), which
are maintained by the resort.. I took it from the Sky Tower in
Sentosa."

Thanks Ansh.

Eroteme,
The day you are born you already have some honor with you. Lets call this as "X" or some default value. From there it can go either up or down.

Hi All,

Thanks a lot for the comments..

This picture is taken from the Sky Tower in Sentosa, Singapore(Theme park with lots of activities).. There are many small piece of land surrounding the Island (as seen in the Picture), they are maintained by the Resort. You may need a full day to see all the places...

Thanks,

Nice snap of Sentosa. As Dhanalakshmi said this is one of the private islands attached to one of the 5 star hotel / resort located inside Sentosa. Access to this island is restricted to the hotel guests. Although I live in S'pore I hvn't been to this island as such. I got the same view when I went up the Carlsberg Sky Tower.
