Phoenix

photograph marble statue with quote michelangelo

Quote:
The stone unhewn and cold
Becomes a living mould,
The more the marble wastes
The more the statue grows.

Author: Michelangelo
Photographer: Dheepak Ra

Yet another photograph, yet another statue from the Ramoji Film City. These are some of the few consolation for braving the May heat in Hyderabad.

If you take a closer look, in the back ground there is even bigger statue on a pedestal. Unfortunately that entire area was cordoned off in anticipation of the scheduled wedding in the evening.

Thanks Lakshmi.

Srinivas - They had cordoned off the entire area (preparations were going on for hosting marriage party) And my camera supports just 3x which is next to nothing.

Arathi, Frankly I had taken very few photos. As mentioned in the baejaar blog, the heat took a toll on me. So I neither enjoyed the "vacation" nor did I get to shoot much :-(

Narayanan, You are right. Ramoji film city is in Hyderabad only. Its recently (a relative term) constructed. Nice place to go - during non-summer months. Most consider this place as a must visit for tourist.

Rhea - Thanks. BTW do you have a blog. If so please do send the url.

Ansh, Phoenix is the mythological bird which rises from the ashes.
"The more the marble wastes
The more the statue grows."
Some how these lines reminded me about that.

Thanks Ashish for dropping by.

Nikki - Most of south india is scorching in April/May (peak of summer) with temperatures hitting the 40 degrees. However there are exceptions like hill stations and also the city where I am currently residing in - Bangalore. Infact here its raining heavily - but I am not complaining. Thats for sure.

Thanks d4u.

Anubhav, I have arranged for the same. They are already on the way. Now how about transferring some advance money? Until some money is deposited in my bank account, I wont allow the clouds to shower there....
