Phew atlast solved this issue. Sorry for the delayed reply. Basically the rendering of some of my sites werent right. I had presumed that it was bcoz I was tinkering with the nightly build of Firefox. When the problem persisted after reverting to stabler version, I tried uninstalling entire firefox and then reinstalling. Bad choice (uninstalling only removes program files and not the profiles containing cache/extension/theme etc). So after manually deleting profile folder and recreating it, my hopes began to fade when I noticed that the problem still persisted. Restarted the entire PC. Sometimes it works but not today.
As a software engineer, I couldnt goto bed without cracking this. Sitting with javascript console and wading through the errors, I realized that some of the javascript files were corrupted and so was throwing error. Unfortunately even when I refreshed the site (ctr+R and f5) the browser doesnt fetch .js files from the website (though it reloads everything else including images). Finally I cleared my harddisk of all the cached js scripts and things are back to normal.
So I spent hours only to realize that it was such a silly error....
Worst part is I had fully customized my previous Firefox and now I have to recreate it from scratch (themes, extensions and lot more.....)
